Our saddle pannier is a great alternative for packing if you don't own a pack saddle. We make our riding pannier out of our popular 14 oz. Armor Duck material. The whole pannier is sewn out of 1 x 10 ft piece. 2 x 2" heavy duty webbing is sewn on and give additional support and stability. 6 x 1" rings in the center provide many options to tie down the pannier securely. 1 x 2" ring on the back side of each pannier can be used to keep the pannier bag in place. 2 x 2" straps keep the lid down. In addition we add 2 x 1" straps which go over the top of the saddle in a diagonal and are buckled down and the front of pannier bag. By doing so, the weight of the pannier will be pulled up and gives even more stability. We modified our Western Riding Pannier several times over the past year.
