The author, Richard Phillips, was born & raised in Idaho. With his father he has packed all over Idaho. During the years of hunting and packing in he backcountry Dutch oven cooking was just a way of life. While operating an Outfitting business, the hard anodized aluminum Dutch oven was used because it is lightweight and easy to clean.
